If one were to substitute the word “conqueror” with “democracy” and the word “murderer” with “terrorist” that would render Adolf Hitler’s statements relevant to the political stand taken by liars like Tony Blair.
A million or more Iraqis murdered have been written off as “collateral damages” and this price, paid in blood was for the ‘privilege’ of having the US and UK forces dictating ‘democracy’ also known as ‘liberation’. The bloodbath is not described as murder or genocide or terrorism (state terrorism) but the non evocative term of “collateral damages”.
Such technical terms help to lighten the guilt making it more palatable for the masses to accept it as a by product of the foreign policy of Western Imperialism.

After the death of Muhammad, his successor was chosen by democratic means.

The Americans give a lot of lip service to democracy but covertly and overtly support the most fundamentalist, oppressive and un-Islamic rulers and kings in the Middle-East, because only then the modern day oil piracy can be effectively done.
For 30 years, one of the best friends of the USA has been the most horrible and oppressive ruler Husni Mubaruk of Egypt. So was Saddam Hussein when he was fighting a proxy war with Iran at the biddings of the US. Can an American politician explain why the US never talks about democracy in Egypt. Why the US bribes him to the tune of US$2 billion a year in order to keep him in power?
Dissidents of a regime at times do an excellent job in trying to help foreigners make plans to change regime by fair or foul means, this was what Ahmed Chlabi and Company did in Iraq against the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein.
